Developmental editing for short stories and essays

Let's get your piece ready to submit for publication! A developmental edit will identify major issues with structure, purpose, plot development, and character development. P.J. will read your piece three times and provide you with

An "edit letter" offering overall impressions of what is working and what could be improved
Editing comments and suggestions in the body of the piece
A coaching session where we go through the above and come up with a plan to get you to your final draft.

Small writing groups facilitated using the Amherst Writers and Artists method

Take part in a facilitated small virtual writers group that meets weekly for six weeks at a time. Each meeting includes:

Writing time based on an optional prompt, with optional round-robin sharing in a supportive environment
Discussion and compassionate critique of one writer's piece submitted ahead of time for the group to review (up to 3,000 words)
A bonus meeting for goal-setting and resource-sharing.

We can run a session with you and a group of your writing friends, or you can join one of my groups and make new ones!

Conshohocken Writers Network

The Conshohocken Writers Network is a group I founded on the Meetup.com platform to facilitate online and in-person writing opportunities. Membership is free and programming is a mixture of free and paid opportunities. I will often share workshops and other events there as I hear about them from my broader writing network.
